10 Years

 Wedding Rings

10 years ago I was kneeling at the alter across from my husband with eyes full of love, excitement, and happiness.  10 years ago I said yes twice; I was so excited that I said Yes at the wrong point in the ceremony.  It was quite funny, and of course I have been teased about it ever since.  10 years ago Paul and I stood in the atrium of the Portland, Oregon Temple and exchange rings – only I couldn’t get his ring on, so much to the amusement of all our family and friends he had to put it on himself. 🙂 10 years ago I married the most amazing man I have ever known.

It is incredible to think that ten years have passed by so quickly.  These years have been packed with amazing wonderful experiences and some of the hardest things that I wonder how we have made it through.  But one thing I know is that through it all we have become closer and stronger.  I love that wonderful man just as much as I did ten years ago – and oh so much more.

Wedding PHoto 1

In our years together we have seen so many wonderful miracles – five of them being our wonderful children who have joined us over the years.  I am excited for the many years to come and all they will bring.  I love my husband and each of my children.  I love their excitement as we pour over the pages of our wedding album and hearing them exclaim, “You look younger!”  or “I love your dress.”  I love to hear them begging for us to tell them the stories about how we met and got married, “one more time”.

I am so grateful for all that I have in life, and for my husband, who is the greatest husband and father I could ever dream of.

Wedding Cake
(The infamous cake before its great demise – it toppled – thankfully after the porcelain temple was removed)

I love you dear! Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary! And yes, it was funny when you said “Yes” twice. You guys were very cute on your wedding day.

  3. Happy anniversary!!!

I think a lot of us say yes twice… I almost did, but had been warned to wait wait wait to say it. There is one point where it sounds like they are done and it’s time, you know? But then they go on… heh. At least you guys didn’t get told by the officiator that your kiss wasn’t good enough, so do it again. 😀

I think you should post a wedding photo or two. 😉 It’d sure be fun to see!!

The Photos are up now – the baby started crying so I posted as is, but now that he is asleep, I have finished. 🙂

Happy Anniversary guys! Double digits, WOOT!

  5. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! I felt almost like a voyeur reading your post. It was like you were talking to Paul and I was eavesdropping! Very sweet.

Happy Anniversary Julia! I tried commenting on a couple of posts yesterday, but it didn’t work I guess, so I’ll try again. It’s so fun to see your wedding pictures. You both look so great and so happy! I guess it has something to do with the fact that I have all boys, but they never ask about our wedding or dating or anything. 🙂

Happy Anniversary! I’m glad that it has been a wonderful 10 years, even with it’s ups and downs! Here’s to more ups, and less downs!

  8. Yay for pictures!!! 🙂 And hey! There’s Monique!! I forgot she was in your wedding. Man, I love that girl.

It’s so cool seeing those pictures. I knew Paul back then, but not you. I mean, I had met you, but that’s about it, you know? Wierd to think that 10 years later and I would consider you such a good friend (whereas I don’t think I really know Paul anymore). I don’t know where I’m going with this. It’s late. I’m going to stop typing now and get some rest. Maybe.

  9. Happy Anniversary! Congrats on achieving a DECADE of married life. Just you wait… another decade will go by like *that* (snapping fingers). At least it feels like it at times and at other times I can’t hardly even remember NOT being married. Karl and I have 23 years of complete bliss. Don’t stand too close to me, lightening may strike at any moment. haha! We’ve been married 23 years through things that could break many marriages up but we stuck it through and are committed to each other through thick and thicker. LOL

I love the wedding pictures. Now… where’s your 10 yr anniversary pictures?

  10. I am WAY late here…. but just wanted to add you were a beautiful bride!!!! Congrats on 10 years!!
