The Death Cure by James Dashner [324 pgs]
The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan [513 pgs]
The Shadow of Your Smile by Mary Higgins Clark 319 pgs]
Haven by Kristi Cook [320 pgs] (ugh – talk about a twilight knock off and I was hoping for something vampire and werewolf free.)
Dead Beautiful by Yvonne Woon [480 pgs]
City of Glass by Cassandra Clare [541 pgs]
City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare [453 pgs]
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare [485 pgs] – very good book! Looking forward to the rest of the series.
The Emperor of Nihon-Ja by John Flanagan [490 pgs] – the 10th and final book in the Ranger’s Apprentice series – I love the series, its a lot of fun.
Sovay by Celia Rees [404 pgs] – it was good, but…. the romance was lame and unbelievable. Through the whole book it looks like Sovay will have to choose between one of two gentlemen (and I’m okay with either, though rooting for one in particular) and then in the last 100 pages or less Sovay falls for a character just barely introduced into the book! It was rather unbelievable. Other than that it’s good and intense – set during the French Revolution.
Red Riding Hood by Sarah Blakely-Cartwright [329 pgs] – Ugh, ugh and UGH! Stupidest publicity stunt ever. It was based off the movie, but the book was released first – without the ending! They didn’t want to spoil the movie. Then, when the did release the end online, it was really not worth the wait. Bottom line – I didn’t like it and there was an inappropriate scene in it that I wouldn’t want my teens reading.
Palace of Mirrors by Margaret Peterson Haddix [304 pgs] – I really wanted to love this – I loved “Just Ella” and this was supposed to be a companion book. But, I just couldn’t move past the fact it was written in present tense. Present tense drives me crazy, gives me a headache, and generally make me want to hurl the book across the room. So, I skimmed it more than read it. If don’t mind books written in present tense you might really enjoy it.
Dragon Slippers by Jessica Day George [324 pgs] cute book – the best I’ve read by her.
The Scorch Trials by James Dashner [360 pgs] just as amazing as his first book, The Maze Runner. Intense fun read.
The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan [553 pgs] – so excited by this new series! Fabulous book ends on a cliff hanger can’t wait to read more.
The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan [516 pgs] – it was good and fun, but since he used the same concept in his original series it felt a bit copycat.
Charlie Bone and the Red Knight by Jenny Nimmo [467 pgs] – The Charlie Bone books are just plain fun and this newest addition didn’t dissapoint.
Jinx by Meg Cabot [272 pgs] – the idea of the book was good and in general I enjoyed it, but the foul language bothered me… there was quite a bit in it.
Marysvale by Jared Southwick [387 pgs] Great read – I really enjoyed this one.
